Edgewood Heavy’s Releases Dark and Gritty New Single ‘Homicidal Lover’

In the span of just three years, Edgewood Heavy has established itself as a prominent force in Atlanta’s music scene. Their distinctive blend of edginess and soul, encapsulated in the genre they’ve coined as “Rock N Soul,” forms the very core of their musical identity. This four-member rock ensemble, guided by their dynamic and passionate frontmen, has drawn comparisons to a musical cocktail comprising elements of the Rolling Stones, The Black Keys, and Outkast.

Their rise to prominence extends beyond Atlanta, having made a significant impact on the southeastern music landscape. They’ve graced stages alongside artists like David Ryan Harris and lady Nicole Wray at the One Music Festival, a massive annual event drawing over 50,000 attendees. Their musical journey has taken them to renowned festivals such as Wire and Wood Fest, Stone Mountain Soul Fest, and Inman Park Fest, to name just a few. Now, in response to their fans’ fervent anticipation, Edgewood Heavy is poised to deliver their inaugural studio album, commencing with the release of their flagship single, “Homicidal Lover.”

Gio, one of the vibrant frontmen of Edgewood Heavy, articulates their distinctiveness, stating, “Every facet of Edgewood Heavy exudes uniqueness, from our Rock N Soul musical style to our stage presence, even down to the fact that we take the reins in producing all our songs. In a world increasingly dominated by discussions of artificial intelligence, computerization, and automation, we proudly stand as the antithesis. Soul and rock music have always been a conduit for the raw expression of profound emotions, where no two performances of a song are ever identical. This is precisely why our album features only live instruments; we aim to spotlight the unfiltered authenticity of our live performances, providing listeners with a genuine taste of what it’s like to experience our shows.”

The soon-to-be-released single, “Homicidal Lover,” delves into a darker and more seductive realm, accentuating the rock elements of Edgewood Heavy’s Rock N Soul style. It emanates a grittier and more tragic sound, setting it apart from many of Edgewood Heavy’s previous tracks.

“Homicidal Lover was our choice for the leading single on the album because it transports the listener and forces them to feel something. It’s dirty, it’s human, and it’s heavy,” explains Gio. “The song carries an air of palpable guilt, and we aim to take people somewhere when they hear our music—a place that isn’t always innocent or easy. Along with ‘Heavy’ and ‘Save My Soul,’ ‘Homicidal Lover’ will offer listeners a well-rounded look at who we are as a band.”
