This song was special to me. Jody brings a melodic approach to his music, the sound itself is like nothing we’ve ever heard before. A Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole influence with an almost Lauren Hill approach to rifts and melodies. I would definitely call it soul music. BUT if I may add, Jody has music for just about every type of listener. Jody Bloom is a perfect combination of everything we love about music today and everything we marvel about the music of yesterday.
