A V 8 – D E S P a L E R XC (Intro)

DESPALER XC: is a cyclical short story of a lost addict who after 7 months of sobriety has decided to answer the familiar call of their DOC. We hear the combative/conflicting conversations within their head between themself and the drugs. One voice is that of a hopeless pessimistic leader which sees ahead only a path paved in self destruction inevitably leading to hell. One voice is soft as it reflects, acknowledges lessons that should be learned, touches upon reason, however it never truly grows the strength to overcome this louder overarching voice. This quiet tired voice aches, wanting to go back home however their message goes unheard as inebriation sets in causing them to feel helplessly stuck. At rock bottom, homeless, friendless, and penniless they stand outside of their dealers doorsteps with light pockets, less paper, and more plastic. Their last dimes were spent on the drugs which have become such a necessity that they are now perceived as an asset though this perspective. Full throttle they jet into a high which always lands them lower than they initially began, for our pains never exit reality. Take just one swing and that might just be your fast track to the end. In many places, drugs are what have given cities their names and attention. We conclude to learn this addict was running laps trying to relax as they relapsed once more, to find themselves back to (what/where) they started. Will you choose to end the cycle or become trapped within the loop? Sing a song, move along, and stay strong.
